  • You print up to ~80 A1 plots a day — the engine handles it but the per-cartridge ink cost is best on the 80-ml black if monos are heavy.
  • You only print from one roll — single roll only on the T530; dual-roll auto-switching is a T1600DR / T1700 feature.
  • You can live without PostScript — this is non-PostScript. The T1600 PS / T1700 PS are the step-ups.
  • You want occasional letter/A3 prints from the front input tray — works but you'd never replace an office printer with this.
  • You're stepping up from a T520 36-inch — operators adapt to the touchscreen quickly; HP Click and existing project-set workflows carry over.

  • You need to scan large originals — this is print-only. The MFP equivalent is the T2530 / T2600 (also 36-inch).
