The Lexmark XC9645 is a 45 ppm color A3 multifunction sitting in the lower half of Lexmark's production-class 9-Series. Same chassis and 11.6-inch touchscreen as the XC9655 and XC9665 — what changes is the engine speed. At 45 pages per minute color and 45 ppm B&W with matching speeds, it's tuned for shops printing 5,000 to 25,000 pages a month who need tabloid (11x17) and want SRA3 13x19 capability for full-bleed letter and tabloid output. Standard duplex, 650-sheet input out of the box, expandable to 6,650 sheets with the high-capacity feeder. The 1 thing buyers regret: not pricing the click rate. The XC9645 lives or dies on its color CPP — if you're buying it transactionally instead of on a managed-print contract with metered toner, the cost-per-color-page will surprise you. The other regret is buying it for a 50-person office when the 9655 (55 ppm) is often only a few hundred dollars more.
