Is this the right printer for you?

Who the ZIP 47GE IP Phone is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run Zultys MX and need a high-key-count phone for execs, sales managers, or receptionists.
  • You want HD voice and good speakerphone audio for daily conference calls.
  • You use a wired or Bluetooth headset and want a dedicated headset port with EHS.
  • You need dual Gigabit Ethernet to chain a PC behind the phone.
  • You'll add the ZIP 450M expansion module for receptionist or attendant duties.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You want a step up from the Z 23GE without paying for a touchscreen.
  • You like having Wi-Fi as a fallback if Ethernet is unavailable at the desk.
  • You'll use the 27 keys for line monitoring even if you don't max them out.
  • You prefer physical buttons over a touchscreen for muscle memory.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You're not on a Zultys MX phone system.
  • You actually want video calling on the desk phone — get the 49GA.
  • You only handle light call volume; the Z 21i or Z 22G is plenty.
  • You need a printer or any imaging device.
  • Your users live entirely in a softphone client and barely touch the desk phone.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Zultys ZIP 47GE sits one rung below the 49GA — same 27 programmable keys, but a 4.3-inch color LCD instead of a 7-inch touch screen, and no Android or video option. It's the phone you buy for executives and power users who answer calls all day but don't need to swipe through apps. Dual Gigabit Ethernet means you can daisy-chain a PC behind the phone without losing speed, and the dedicated headset port with EHS support handles wired and wireless headsets cleanly. Full-duplex HD voice and acoustic echo cancellation are noticeable on speakerphone — it doesn't sound tinny like the entry-level models. Built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB cover headset and accessory needs without extra dongles. The thing buyers regret: the 4.3-inch screen is fine, but if you actually wanted to tap things instead of pressing buttons, you should have spent the extra and gotten the 49GA. Conversely, if you don't need 27 keys or HD audio, the Z 23GE saves real money. Designed for the Zultys MX system and ZAC UC app — don't try to retrofit it onto a different SIP platform.

How you can buy this printer

Buy it, lease it, or just reorder supplies

Three ways to get this printer, each priced to match how you actually use it. Most small offices lease because toner and maintenance are bundled. If you know what you need, buy outright. If you already own one, just reorder supplies.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 6 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Zultys machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "Good phone for the price point. Does what it's supposed to do for basic business calls. The screen could be bigger but that's a minor thing."
  • "Been using the ZIP 47GE for about 8 months now in our home office setup. Reliable connection, decent speaker, and the hold music doesn't cut out like our old phone did."
  • "Been using this IP phone in our small office for about a year now. The call quality is solid and setup was straightforward with our existing network. Haven't had any reliability issues."
  • "The 47GE does what it's supposed to do for basic office calling. Screen could be a bit bigger and the menu navigation is a little clunky, but nothing that's a deal breaker."
  • "Got this for my home office setup and it integrates well with our VoIP provider. Audio is clear on both ends and it's been dependable for the last several months."
  • "The ZIP 47GE is a decent mid-range option if you need something practical. Reception is fine but I wish the handset was more comfortable for longer calls."
