Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Epson SureColor P9570 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You're a fine art studio or photo lab printing 24x36 and larger regularly.
  • You need 12-color PRO12 ink and the dedicated PK/MK channels for paper variety.
  • You want the optional internal SpectroProofer for inline proofing workflows.
  • You print archival work where 200-year color permanence matters.
  • You're moving up from a P700 or P900 because volume justifies 44 inches.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • It's fine if you do mostly photo and occasional fine art on cotton rag.
  • It's fine if you'll add the SpectroProofer later when you sign a proofing client.
  • It's fine if you mix roll and cut-sheet work.
  • It's fine if you need PostScript RIP integration.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • Skip this if 17 or 24 inches covers your work — go P900 or P5330.
  • Skip this if you need 64-inch — go P20570.
  • Skip this if you don't manage color with profiles — you'll waste expensive paper.
  • Skip this if you need signage durability — go S-series or R-series.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Epson SureColor P9570 is the 44-inch professional photo and proofing printer with the 12-color UltraChrome PRO12 pigment ink set — same ink as the 64-inch P20570, just narrower. Epson rates 99% Pantone coverage off the 2.6-inch PrecisionCore head, with dedicated Matte Black and Photo Black nozzles so you don't lose ink to swap-and-purge cycles. Print permanence is rated up to 200 years color and 400 years for B&W under proper storage. The thing buyers regret is buying this when they don't actually need 44 inches — if 24 or 17 inches covers your work, the P5330 or P900 saves serious money. The other thing: contract proofing requires a SpectroProofer or external spectrophotometer plus the right RIP and certification — the printer alone isn't enough. For a fine-art studio or photo lab printing 24x36 and larger regularly, this is the right machine. Roll and cut-sheet support both work cleanly, and the optional internal SpectroProofer is the path to inline-measured contract proofs without bolt-on hardware.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 2 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Epson machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "Got this for my photography business to handle fine art prints. Print quality is excellent and the speed is decent, but the maintenance costs add up with the cartridges. Still worth it if you're doing professional work though."
  • "Using it in our architecture office for large format blueprints and renderings. Handles the volume we throw at it without issues, and the network setup was straightforward. Would recommend if you need something reliable for production work."
