You'll be happy if...

  • You print 100,000-200,000 pages a month — the ED125 is overbuilt for that, but you'll amortize over a longer service life.
  • You want to add the optional 2-tray HCF (4,000 sheets) for non-stop letter runs — bolts on but plan for the additional 30-inch footprint.
  • You scan to PDF/A or searchable PDF — needs the optional PDF Scan Kit, not standard.

Skip this if...

  • You need color — the ED125 is mono only. Get a PrimeLink C9070 or Color EC70 instead.
  • You print under 50,000 pages a month — you're paying for a 125 ppm production engine and using maybe 5%. Step down to a VersaLink B-series MFP.
  • You want a small footprint — this is a floor-standing modular production system; the print engine alone needs 7-8 ft of linear floor space, more with feeders and finishers.

It runs 125 ppm Letter, 78 ppm Legal, 62 ppm Tabloid, and 34 ppm SRA3 at 2400 x 2400 dpi with 256 gray levels — text, halftones, and solid blacks all hold up at production rates. First copy out is 3.5 seconds or less. Standard paper capacity is 4,250 sheets across four trays plus the bypass; the optional 2-tray HCF adds 4,000 letter sheets for non-stop runs. The 250-sheet single-pass duplex ADF scans at 200 ipm in color or mono and routes to email, SMB/FTP, USB, mailbox, or LDAP-authenticated workflows. Inline finishing covers staple (single or dual 100-sheet variable length), 2/3-hole punch, 3,000-sheet stacking, 200-sheet pre-printed inserter, and saddle-stitch booklets up to 25 sheets / 100 imaged sides.
