The KIP 980 (SYS980K) is the multifunction version of the 970: 16 D-size color and 20 D-size B&W per minute, 4 rolls, plus the integrated KIP 720 CIS scanner with cloud, SMB, and email scan destinations. 12-inch or 15.6-inch multi-touch smart screen, KIP ImagePro software, LED electrophotography with CMYK dry toner, 600 x 1,800 dpi. This is the print, scan, copy production workhorse for in-plant shops, large AEC firms, and reprographers running 8,000+ sq ft a month with active wide-format scanning. The 1 thing buyers regret: assuming the 720 CIS scanner is the same quality as the CCD 2300 on the 990. For day-to-day technical drawings, redlines, and standard color work the 720 is excellent and fast. For high-volume color photographic scanning or production scanning where image fidelity is part of the product you sell, the 990 with the CCD 2300 is the right pick. For most production AEC environments the 980 is the sweet spot.
